Sundays at 10am
Believers are told to “pray without ceasing” and “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” (1 Thess. 5:17; Eph. 6:18). Think of the privilege we have to enter into the presence of God and speak with him, “in him [Christ] and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” (Eph 3:12). How humbling, and, how emboldening. Yet for many prayer seems to be one of the most difficult and neglected areas. Perhaps holding people back is the difficulty in knowing what to say. Or maybe prayer is just hard work – which it is.
This is why we are having this class: The Praying Life. It will not be theoretical or mere theology – though lots of theology will be covered. For the next 4-6 weeks we will focus on a different aspect of prayer: Praise, Confession, Asking. Using actual prayers in the Bible to guide us we will learn how to pray like the Bible prays. Time in class will be set aside to practice what we’re learning. Join us at 10am each Sunday starting January 15th.
Where there is prayer from the people there will be power from God!
