In case you’re wondering if MSC is going to mess up your kid’s skills breathe easy. EFC has a deep bench of talented and accomplished athletes and coaches who love leading kids at MSC.
MSC Coach Profile: Basketball
What do you get when you mix experience, success, knowledge and character in a coach? You get Jim Warren. Jim has successfully coached high school basketball for more than 25 years. In 1999 he was awarded the class C Coach of the Year by the Lansing State Journal. In 2010 the Muskegon Chronicle awarded him the All-Area Coach of the Year for class A and class B. He led 3 of the 4 teams he has coached to break school records for wins in a single season. Jim loves watching players see how hard work, discipline, and teamwork come together to achieve great things. He also loves teaching the players to become a family that cares for one another.
MSC Coach Profile: Soccer
After heavy recruiting by our Scouting Agency Kevin Wierda is coming to coach soccer at MSC again this year. Growing up playing soccer and coaching in the Tri-Cities leagues, Kevin likes to help kids learn to play together as a team and gain skills to help them enjoy the game more.
MSC Coach Profile: Pickleball
When you think of Jaron Faltinowski think “5.0”. That’s the highest rating a pickleball player can receive. Jaron is one of the best pickleball players in the state having just won the silver in Michigan’s state competiton. His skills haven’t gone unnoticed either as Paddleteck (the “Nike” of pickleball) sponsors him. Pickleball is a new sport we’re adding this year and with Jaron we’ve got the right coach for the camp.
MSC Coach Profile: Baseball
Pastor Justin played for the Caledonia Fighting Scots, was a 2-time All-Conference player, All-Star, and played for the Grand Rapids Elite travel team. After High School he was recruited to play at Aquinas College while continuing as a hitting instructor for Elite in Grand Rapids. Pastor Justin loves hanging curveballs, turning “2”, and at this age, pinch runners.
Mega Sports Profile: NURSE
Is that a scrape? A bruise? No worries when Stacey Wierda is on the scene. Stacey has been a nurse for many years with experience in hospice, medical-surgical, iv teams and more. If there is anyone you want nearby when you’re on the “DL” it’s MSC’s Nurse Stacey. And while there’s nothing she loves more than a medical “event” we still aim to make sure she has nothing to do.
Mega Sports Profile: COMMISSIONERS
This year’s Commissioner has two faces: Hoyt and Janet. Both had long careers in the military and this is why Hoyt & Janet are the perfect team to keep law and order during Mega Sports Camp. We can have as much fun possible with everyone on their best behavior thanks to the “Commissioners”.
